HOW TO SOLVE DIRECTION TEST QUESTIONS
4-TRACING METHOD:100% RELIABLE & ACCURATE TRICK
DIRECTION TEST REASONING SHORT CUT TRICK - In this method Numerical Four is used to remember directions for questions. There are four directions are present in the world and which can also be count as eight direction as shown in Figure 1 & 2 respectively.
DIRECTION TEST REASONING SHORT CUT TRICK - RULES OF 4 TRACING METHOD FOR DIRECTION TEST: -
Rule 1: All LEFT turn will be taken ANTICLOCKWISE.
Rule 2: All RIGHT turn will be taken CLOCKWISE.
PROCEDURE TO USE 4 TRACING METHOD - DIRECTION TEST REASONING SHORT CUT TRICK
1. Draw 4 and write all directions on each edge of it same as shown in Figure 1 (above).
2. Think the You are standing at all arrow head facing outward from centre.
3. Read the line by line.
4. Move yourself as per statement asked and prepare a diagram as per line by line statement.
5. Check and verify the direction and distance of you from starting point.

DIRECTION TEST REASONING SHORT CUT TRICK with Example
DIRECTION TEST REASONING SHORT CUT TRICK with Example
Question 1:
Amit walked 50m towards North, took a left turn and walked 30m. He again took a left turn and walked 50m. Finally he took a right turn and walked 30m. Tell how far and in which direction is he from the starting point.
Solution: By using DIRECTION TEST REASONING SHORT CUT TRICK
Revise the rules:
Rule 1: All LEFT turn will be taken ANTICLOCKWISE.
Rule 2: All RIGHT turn will be taken CLOCKWISE.
Applying 4 Tracing Method: - DIRECTION TEST REASONING SHORT CUT TRICK
1. First draw 4 and write directions same as shown in Figure 1 (above).
2. Read the statement line by line and prepare diagram to trace direction & distance of Amit from starting point.
Line 1: Amit walked 50m towards North
Move Amit (YOU) from centre to North direct to a distance of 50m same as shown in Step 1 in Figure 3.
Line 2: took a left turn and walked 30m.
Now Amit took a left turn i.e. turned in CLOCKWISE direction to distance of straight 30m same as shown in Step 2 in Figure 3.
Line 3: He again took a left turn and walked 50m.
Now Amit took another left turn i.e. turned in CLOCKWISE direction to a distance of 40m same as shown in Step 3 in Figure 3.
Line 4: Finally he took a right turn and walked 30m.
Finally Amit took a right turn i.e. turned in ANTICLOCKWISE direction to a distance of 30m same as shown in Step 4 in Figure 3.
Now check the direction and measure the distance from starting point i.e. origin.
From Step 4 in Figure 3, it is clear that Amit is in WEST direction and 60m (=30+30) away from origin i.e. starting point.
Do the practice by solving such question by using 4 Tracing Method to get cracking marks in Exams.
